Will Taylor Swift's Leaked Song "Mine" Top the Charts Its First Week Out? Even in the area of "leaked" songs, the 20-year-old singer/songwriter can't lose. Mere hours after discovering that an According to Reuters, Taylor Swift was forced into releasing "Mine" 12 days ahead of schedule when a bootleg version of the song somehow was "leaked." In a statement, Big Machine Records said that they decided to immediately release the single version of "Mine" so that Taylor Swift's fans could hear the proper rendition and not a "low quality" MP3 recording. It is as yet unclear how the song was leaked or who might be responsible. Country and pop stations immediately began playing the song. It quickly became one of the hottest tracks on radio. In just two days, it was the 26th most-played song on country radio (Country songs building chart) and 44th among all radio formats (Radio Songs building survey). KIIS-FM (Los Angeles) assistant program director/music director Julie Pilat told Billboard, "The passion for Taylor's music seems as strong as ever. If all the awards and album sales last album weren't enough, the audience reaction is proof that she's an official pop superstar." Billboard noted that recording industry prognosticators have placed sales of "Mine" at around 350,000. Added to airplay, that could put "Mine" in the top three songs of the week for its debut on Billboard's Hot 100 (which will be posted on August 12).
