Some of the best marriages between college football programs and popular songs that were not written with them in mind:

"ROCKY TOP"

The bluegrass ditty was recorded in 1967 by the Osborne Brothers and made its Tennessee game debut in 1972.

"JUMP AROUND"

House of Pain's 1992 hip-hop anthem soon became the popular pre-fourth-quarter energizer at Wisconsin.

"THUNDER- STRUCK"

AC/DC's 1990 hit isn't necessarily synonymous with Michigan State, but the Spartans have taken the field to its pounding rhythm for years.

"HANG ON SLOOPY"

The McCoys' 1965 chart topper now inspires shouts of "O-H-I-O" from Buckeye fans on the four beats after the chorus.

"TAKE ME HOME, COUNTRY ROADS"

The opening line of John Denver's 1971 classic says it all for Mountaineers fans: "Almost heaven, West Virginia."
